In our latest Food Discovery Box, we explored the vibrant world of global street food — a category rooted in convenience, cultural influence, and bold, craveable flavors. From Argentinian street fries to Venezuelan arepas, these recipes delivered the “low and slow” taste of authentic street food with the speed and consistency today’s kitchens demand. Here’s a closer look at the three globally inspired concepts we developed.

Chimichurri Steak Street Fries
Known for their loaded toppings and portable, easy-to-share format, street fries have become a staple of modern street food culture. For our take on this trend, we topped crispy, thick-cut steak fries with a drizzle of garlic aioli, our tender sous vide steak strips, and a chimichurri-style cilantro chutney inspired by classic Argentinian flavors.
One of the standout elements of this dish was the texture of the steak. For this application, our fully cooked steak was quickly pan-seared in its natural jus for added caramelization, though it could also be heated directly in the vacuum-sealed bag for even faster preparation. With no additional seasoning required, the steak strips had rich flavor, tender texture, and just the right amount of bite. When paired with golden French fries, creamy aioli, and bright, herbaceous chutney, the result was balanced, layered, and irresistibly craveable.

Reina Pepiada Arepas
One of Venezuela’s most iconic street foods, reina pepiada arepas are round, unleavened corn cakes that are stuffed with a creamy avocado chicken salad. To recreate this beloved South American dish, we used premade arepas and built the filling around our rotisserie chicken.
Deli Star rotisserie chicken breast is especially well-suited for wet salad applications, effortlessly hand-shredding in seconds while maintaining a tender, substantial bite. Here, the shredded chicken was folded into a mixture of avocado mash, mayonnaise, red onion, and fresh lime, creating a rich yet balanced filling with savory depth and bright citrus flavor. Served inside crispy arepas, it delivered a satisfying handheld experience that made this dish an instant team favorite.

Makhani-Spiced Chicken and Rice Bowl
This premium fast-casual concept reimagines traditional Indian butter chicken (murgh makhani) in a convenient bowl format. Deli Star chicken was tossed in a blend of aromatic makhani spices, including garam masala and chili powder, which worked with its natural juices to create a vibrant, lightly seared finish.
The chicken was then layered over basmati rice and topped with a makhani-style gravy made with butter, cream, and dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi). After a quick microwave reheat, the bowl was finished with fresh cilantro and served with naan. Warm, comforting, and layered with spices, the dish demonstrated just how well our fully cooked chicken can hold its texture and flavor in rich, creamy sauces, even after it’s been reheated.
