Spring Menu Inspiration: 4 On-Trend Ideas Made Easy With Fully Cooked Meats

Photoshoot day at Deli Star is an opportunity to test out new menu ideas that showcase the versatility of our fully cooked meats across foodservice, deli, and fast-casual settings. Combining culinary curiosity with a deep understanding of what operators need in the kitchen, our approach comes to life through real-world recipes that balance ease of execution with standout flavor and visual appeal.

In this blog post, we share four on-trend menu ideas from our recent spring shoot, highlighting new ways to use our Sous Vide Steak, Rotisserie Chicken, and Smoked White Turkey. Read on to see what we cooked up.

Chimichurri Steak Burrito
Cilantro lovers, rejoice! In this vibrant burrito build, cilantro chimichurri sauce adds bright, herbaceous flavor to our diced Sous Vide Steak — which comes ready to use with no prep required. Everything else works in support: creamy avocado softens the edges, roasted red peppers and onions bring a smoky sweetness, and pinto beans provide just enough heartiness to tie it all together. With layers of texture in every bite, it’s the kind of burrito that’s indulgent but still fresh. And it’s easy to execute, with consistent results every time. We give this recipe 45 Deli Stars out of 50.

Mexican-Inspired Chicken Tostada
This one is all about contrast. A crispy fried corn tostada sets the stage for our tender Rotisserie Chicken, which we hand-pulled in about 30 seconds. It had been a while since we’d worked with it, and it was a good reminder of just how easily it shreds. From there, it’s a build of bold, familiar flavors: refried black beans, roasted peppers and onions, sweet corn, and a melty Mexican cheese blend. The crunch and light chewiness of the tostada against the warm, savory toppings created a dynamic bite that kept the team wanting to go back for more. From an operations standpoint, it’s a win: simple assembly, high impact. It was the favorite recipe of the day, so we give this one a solid 48 out of 50 Deli Stars. 

Tuscan Turkey Pesto Sandwich
Our Smoked White Turkey shines in this Italian-inspired twist on a classic turkey sandwich. It’s clean, consistent, and ready to slice or layer, making it ideal for deli-style builds that need to move quickly. Paired with sun-dried tomatoes and basil pesto, it delivers a rich, savory depth with a hint of brightness. Arugula adds a peppery bite, while Muenster cheese brings a smooth creaminess. The textures were balanced and refined – tender, creamy, and just a little crisp – proving that a classic turkey sandwich can still feel crafted. Next time, we’d probably switch up the cheese choice to something a little more on-theme, like a slice of Mozzarella. As is, we rate it 40 out of 50 Deli Stars. 

Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich
This one is a crowd-pleaser, no question. We start by hand-shredding our Rotisserie Chicken and tossing it in a tangy combination of Buffalo sauce and ranch dressing. Then we layer it on white bread with sliced Muenster cheese and a creamy blue cheese spread, grilling until perfectly golden. It delivers on everything you want in a grilled cheese sandwich: crispy exterior, gooey center, and bold, punchy flavor. It’s indulgent, nostalgic, and just a little elevated. To take it to another level, we’d use a heartier bread to stand up to all the melted cheese and add some celery for crunch. Based on that, we’re rating this 40 out of 50 Deli Stars.
